American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s 2024 annual meeting

Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy presented a poster on a novel “Self-Knowledge and Meditation Course for Health Care Providers” at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s 2024 annual meeting. The course, which is taught by MTO Sufi Psychology Association and incorporates the Tamarkoz method, has been shown to increase self awareness and decrease perceived stress for Pharmacy students. In addition to learning about themselves and tools they can use for stress reduction, students also learn how to utilize these non-pharmacological methods with patients. Faculty from various schools of pharmacy were informed about the design and the academic research findings of the course.
